Dont you have to switch your current account to First Direct to even get the 8% regular saver?0
-
Cor .... you have to be quick here dont you!!
Was just logging in to post my reply and someone beat me to it!
Yep,,,,, First Direct's regular saver ....£300 per month in individual account @ 8%
..... and yet another post before I reply!
You only have to switch to get the £100 incentive as well .... but you can simply OPEN a current account to get the saver as well.
Also current account has to be funded with £1500 per month UNLESS you hold another qualifying product with them ..... which can be a qualifying savings account - which you can leave empty!!0 -
Since Savings and Investments are two totally different entities ... (e.g., no risk = no return - fact) then shouldn't Martin have two different forums; one for Savings and another for Investments .... as these two forces it seems are NEVER going to agree ..... One drinks coffee it seems ... and the other tea ... Potentially dangerous ... LOL0

savers actually have it very good relative to interest rates
base rate 0/5% savings rate 3%
if interest rates move to 1.5% i dont think you will see 9% on savings accounts0 -

good against the base rate, bad against the inflation rate (4.0%). In real terms any savings you have at 3% interest are actually losing their value.
Now would be a good time to borrow money... if any bank was willing to lend you any, and if they agreed to lend you it at the base rate :mad:0 -
