Broken Glass In Bottle of Beer

I apologise if this isnt the place to post but think this is the best forum to post in. My Dh was drinking a bottle of beer when he suddenly had broken glass in his mouth from drinking from the bottle. On closer inspecton it was broken from inside the bottle> I sent bottle back to makers of the beer and they have replied with £100 compensation and a legal document for me to sign agreeing to this. I am not a greedy person nor do I complain but has anyone else been in a similar position. They have admitted liability in their bottling process.
Many thanks

If no permanant damage was done it seems a reasonable offer.0

i think thats a reasonable offer and im glad theyve taken the blame. A lot of companies would have said it wasnt anything to do with them or that they are looking into it and thats as much info you would have gottenSmile and be happy, things can usually get worse!0

I would contact environmental health. Such a thing would usually require the closing of a production line, as broken glass is quite serious if it has found its way into foodstuffs. It is not a matter of compensation, it is a matter of health and safety.Don't bother trying to sue me - I've got no money!0

I think that it is a very generous offer. Ultimately mistakes happen and even with the best will in the world occasionally things will get into food goods/ packaging will breakAll posts made are simply my own opinions and are neither professional advice nor the opinions of my employers

Could always backfire and they withdraw offer of £100 if they think you're just after more money."She is quite the oddball. Did you notice how she didn't even get excited when she saw this original ZX-81?"

I would accept the money and not push it any further. At least they are admitting fault etc.
Does the legal document just say that you accept the money etc? Or does it also say that you will not take it any further etc.Weight Loss - 102lb0 -

Your right but then if they have already offered it, then it would look bad if the OP then decided to follow it up further
Why should the company decided what is suitable compensation and not the customer?

It is a negotiation between the 2 that deems what suitable compensation is or a court to rule if they cannot come to an agreement.
Being realistic though the OP has sustained no injury and their only loss was 1 bottle of beer. Now unless it is some very expensive beer that I dont know of £100 for 1 beer is more than fair. All posts made are simply my own opinions and are neither professional advice nor the opinions of my employers

Since there was no actual injury, then I'd accept the offer of £100 if I were you. You're not legally entitled to anything (other than perhaps a refund on the beer) since there was no actually personal injury to claim against. However, I'd still make sure the incident is reported to trading standards or a similar body, just to make sure it's not a common occurance with this manufacturer0
