Thanks for the info on the code to reduce the price. I'm buying one as a Christmas gift and the saving is very worthwhile.I let my mind wander and it never came back!0

lidl stopping their pods is gutting as there were so cheap and I am told quite good flavour (other half used to get through several a day)Baby Milk Action is a non-profit organisation which aims to save lives and to end the avoidable suffering caused by inappropriate infant feeding.0

We got ours from Costco and it was really cheap. Having said that I can't be doing with it . It is an absolute plaster to make a cup of coffee. I would prefer it if you could get a decent sized cup under the spout and not have to press the button twice.
Have a look on ebay for the pods. there was a seller there who shippd them from Holland I think and they had lots of different strengths. Also you can buy something so that you can used ordinary cofee in it must be a little holder you put your own coffee in. I had problems getting pods and looked on ebay and intended to buy then got loads from Lidl which were erasonably priced and very tasty.I have never met a calorie yet I didn't like!!0 -
I'm worried now as I've just ordered a Senseo. What is the maximum size of cup that you can fit under the spout? A previous poster advised that the machine produces about 250ml if you use the 2 cup button and I was hoping that an appropraite sized cup would fit.
Thanks in advance.0 -

I've got one of these on my office desk and have one or two cups a day. You can fit a standard sized mug under it easily so dont worry. I have no idea what the capacity of a standard mug is so cant tell you if its 250ml or not (I'll go and measure a mug later when I've got the bab to sleep and off my lap).
If you stick your standard sized mug under the dual spouts and hit the 2 cup button it will fill the mug to almost the top and leave you just enough space for milk (you wont get much milk in though). The taste is good, definately better than instant and miles better than a vending machine which costwise is about the same or a little more enpensive, so if you drink a lot of vender coffee a Senseo will work out a little cheaper and give you better coffee. It wont trump a proper coffee made in a professional machine though. 1 dark roast pod will make a reasonably standard mug, but I preferred 1 dark roast and one medium roast to get a deeper flavor.

Thanks for offering to measure the mug for me - it would certainly put my mind at rest!
Good luck with getting the little 'un off to sleep!0 -
Got the little un off to sleep! Hoorah.... For about 10 minutes... Boooo! Not to worry though, her mother has taken over again!
Anyway, I've done the experiment. As I say my Senseo is at work so cant do a proper measurement. However what I've done is filled a mug of the same size to the level my Senseo would if I did a 2 cup coffee in it. Then poured the contents into my measuring jug. It works out at about 250 to 260ml with a little room left at the top for milk.
So if your mug can handle 250ml with a bit of room left over for milk (if you have it) you'll be fine. If your mugs absolute limit is 250ml to the brim then you'll have to get a slightly larger mug, or stand over the machine and hit the stop button when it reaches the level you want. But that wouldn't really be a problem as its a really rapid machine. Even from a cold start it'd easily beat a kettle made instant coffee.SIMPLE SIMON - Met a pie man going to the fair. If you know anyone off to France soon - the coffee pods in French Supermarkets are about £1 a bag - half the price of the ones in England.
Hope that helps0
