Senseo Coffee Maker?

I've been looking at the Philips Senseo coffee machine.
I like standard coffee, nothing special - similar (or even weaker) than the stuff you get in the high street coffee shops.
The Senseo machine sounds good, has anyone got one of these?
I like to drink an ordinary size mug of coffee, and I understand that it is possible to make a mug with 1 pod. But...is the coffee too weak when made using just 1 pod?

hi there, yes i have a senseo and it is great when i manage to get the pods for it. usually end up just making instant tbh.
the coffee would be too weak imo but.........1 pod in a single cup is tasty
anyway had it a couple of years or so and think they've come down in price a bit since then0 -
I've got a Senseo - we like a standard mug made with 1 pod, and heat the milk seperatly in a plastic cup in the microwave - makes a passable latte style. Please forgive me if my comments seem abrupt or my questions have obvious answers, I have a mental health condition which affects my ability to see things as others might.0

Thanks for the replies so far.
I've done a bit more research and found that most people advise the use of the 'Dark Roast' variety for a mug of coffee, as it's stronger. Anyone got any more views?
Also, can anyone tell me how much coffee is produced if you use the 2 cup button (or 1 cup button twice) - is it about 250ml?
Thanks0 -
I got a senseo as a gift, i think it is just another kitchen gadget that collects dust.
If you decide to get one ,lidl does a version of the pods.
might be worth a look.0 -
The last 2 times I have been to LIDL they have had no pods. It looks like they no longer do them. I use 2 PODs of a strong blend to do 2 mugs and use a whitener rather than milk. I would say that I will never be without my Senseo. Instant does not even come close to the coffe I get from this machine.

Thanks for the advice everyone.
Can any owners answer my question about how much coffee is produced?0 -

I use a pod to produce a large mug of coffee and it's lovely. Like you I don't want my coffee too strong, but neither do I like it weak.
The way I do it is to use a medium mug which just fits under the spout and press the 2 cup button. When the cup is full, I pour this into my large mug and press the 1 cup button (with the same pod in the Senseo). This produces a very weak ½ cup which I use to top up my big mug.
The resulting large mug of coffee suits me fine!I let my mind wander and it never came back!0 -
Thanks Consultant31. Can you tell me how much coffee is produced when the 2 cup button is pressed? Is it about 250ml?
