What is Java script ?

I am trying to list on Ebay using Auctiva and my listings are failing as Ebay says they contain Java Script.

Can someone please give me an example of what they mean as have no idea.

Javascript is a programming language that is used to develop certain functionality for web pages (amongst other things)

Ebay give you the option (at an extra cost) to use certain types of code (HTML etc) to make your advert look better.

As far as I know, a basic adver has to be just plain text and images.

Have you copied and pasted some of your advert from somewhere online? You may hav inadvertently picked up some javascript, which you'll need to remove before it'll let you post.

No, I haven't copied anything onto the listing. I will have to go back to an old listing and see if it will let me amend and list that.

I've just had a quick google - apparently eBay can pick up wording in your listing and incorrectly interpret it as javascript.

You could check your wording and make sure it doesn't contain things like

cookie
cookie(
replace(
IFRAME
META
Parentheses like these {}

I know some of them are unlikely - but they're ust copied from the advice here.....
