It horrifies me. Are you sure there is nothing whatsoever apart from decorating which needs doing? Personally, I would just take on one room at a time and make sure that all the other jobs were done first.

@LandyAndy - I did the painting in our bathrooms when they were refitted last year. The finish is OK. I want better in the rest of the house. I repainted my old flat but that was a cheap property; now we have a decent house I don't want to give it my treatment. Part of the problem with the bathrooms was I rushed it because I work long days so have no free time at all during the week, and therefore tend to have little free time at weekends either. To be honest though, even taking my time, my finish just isn't as good as a professional can get.

@DVardysShadow - horrifies is a strong statement! As I said, the house is in good condition, it's just not decorated to our taste. We've already refitted the bathrooms. The kitchen doesn't need refitting. Light fittings etc are all fine. Heating system/electrics are fine. Windows have been replaced by the previous owner. There are some carpets that are worn but I figure it makes sense to paint before replacing carpets in case of accidental spillages. What part horrifies you? If it's the thought of the chaos it will cause I figured I'd rather have a nightmare few weeks and get it all done but I might be rethinking that following the comments on here. :)

    Thanks for the comments all.
