Hi all
My friend is an international Student in salford Uni Manchester. He has just arrivedto UK and opened bank account and also have Maestro (switch) debit card.
He wants to buy a mobile on contract with lots of anytime anynetwork minutes. Is it possible to get a mobile on contract for him as he has been living here for less than a month now. He is even to put a deposit if he has to.
Any ideas and link to deals would be appriciated.
Thanks

I'm sure the best option would be to go into a few phone shops, phones4u, carphone warehouse, 02 etc and ask them in person. Just make sure he isn't pressurised into signing a contract - Once he's found out if he is able to, the best deals are usually online.
Try https://www.dialaphone.co.uk, both carphonewarehouse and phones4u online shops also, just shop around. And watch out for those 18 month contracts too!

there are some fantastic deals in the clearance section of e2save.com just now.
You can get a free phone with 200 minutes and 75 texts a month for £2.50 a month (after cashback)
example: http://www.e2save.com/mobile/phones/disphandset.php?network=orange&handset=D500CL0 -
however as a international student he wont be in the country all yr round, so claiming cashback deals where you have to spend off bills at certain months will be a hassle, so a fixed direct debit contract will be better, tho obv more expensive.0
