Cheap fence/railing idea to stop dogs on garden

We have just moved to a new property with a very large garden, in our last property we had a side garden and a back patio. We allowed the dogs to go on the patio as it was easily cleaned up but kept them off the side grass garden so it was safe for the kids.
However this garden is a very long wide garden, so we were looking to fence off the start of the back garden where there is patio paving.
The fencing/railings need to be high enough so the dogs can't jump over but we don't want solid fencing as it will ruin the outlook of the garden from inside/we wouldn't be able to see the kids playing etc
As we've just moved things are very tight so can't afford big posh/expensive railings, we will have to do a DIY job for now and then redo when we have some spare cash
Does anyone have any ideas or sonmething similar that is affordable or are there any railing companies that are reasonable? B&Q is Min £80 per 6ft Length and we would need 10!!
Thanks,

Just thought I would come in with another cheaper option. In the place we're moving into, we had the problem of people crossing over our front garden (there is a public path and no fence by the front garden, although thankfully a brick wall around our back garden). We looked at fencing but found it to be expensive (our drive is quite long). We have, instead, planted thick bushes along the edge of the front garden. They were only £4 each so a lot more cost effective for us. Of course, they do have a bit of growing to do so they won't be effective from day 1, but it's an alternative
