nearly all WM are cold feed only these days.
you just need to cap off your hot copper pipe.
a simple enough job.Get some gorm.0 -
apparently cold feed are more energy efficient,or that is what I was told when I got mine0

yes. you only heat the water you actually require.
really a bit silly, with modern combi boilers.Get some gorm.0 -

yeah yeah yeah ..so they keep saying
Only more efficient if you are the person with 2.4 children, drive a vauxhall.....and change your TV because the colour of it is not in fashion any more.
They are certainly cheaper to make LESS PARTS............and they will need fixing more often ..as they are using the heater elements more...if you have to pay someone to change the element more often, the so called saving (if any) goes out of the window.
also on boil wash ........gas is 5 pence a unit .........electric is 12.5 pence per unit...they also take longer to wash the clothes ...because they have to heat the water up from cold....therefor ..will wash less clothes in their lifetime before they pack up altogether ..and then you have to buy another new machine .
all the best.markj0 -
They are cold fill only because most of Europe has always had them that way, it is cheaper for makers to have one standard fitting.
They are not better or more cost effective ( for most users in the UK ).0 -

They`re nearly all cold fill now and of course the water has to be heated from cold (freezing in winter) on the wash cycle and this adds to the overall length of time for each wash.
I fail to see how this can be more efficient as the manufacturers claim.
Are we being conned yet again
YES. :mad:0
