Hi there, Could anyone tell me what my rights are or whats the best thing for me to do please. Last night i had a colour tv, this morning everythings b&w
. This tv is only 10months old bought from Argos. I have the reciept. I would prefer just to unplug it and take it back to Argos for a replacement or my money back. I dont want to be without a tv while it gets repaired nor do i really want to wait in or indeed have repair men in my bedroom trying to mend it. If this tv was bought in Adsa and possibly Tesco i would be able to do this no bother but are Argos the same , i dont know. Your thoughts appreciated please.

Thats done itthank you. I d tried switching the tv off and back on but to no avail. I was thinking it might be something to do with my sky box. I dont know too much about the workings of modern things. Anyway i pulled the plug out waited a minute put it back in and now its back to normal
. However i cant understand why it went like that in the first place as nothing had been disturbed or fiddled with beforehand.

If it is faulty and this happens again....
If you take it back to argos, the most likely outcome is they will send it away to be repaired. If it is uneconomical to fix, they will most likely offer you a replacement. (that is what happened with me anyway, took about 2 weeks in total from taking the tv back, to getting a new one.)0 -
The reason it happened is most probably that the Scart lead became dislodged. The pins that supply the colour information weren't making contact and unplugging it/plugging it back in (or even just wriggling the plug in the back of the TV) has re-seated it properly.0

It's probably a return to base warranty anyway, so you'd have had to take it to Argos anyway-they won't fix it at home. You are not entitled to an immediate replacement, you have to give them the opportunity to repair it. If not possible then a replacement would be offered. No free lunch, and no free laptop0
