    Watergate all over again.
  • Got a reply from the magistrates court. No copies of the warrant are kept but supplied me with the supporting documants.

A copy of the warrant notification with the court date was send to me at a address which turns out to be the kitchen extension. There claim upaid debit of £2000, and failed to give consent to enter the premises. So a warrant was granted the enter the property.

I have not recieved the notification as i would of contested it had i known, I am not in debit as i have not used any of they electricity, dont have a separate meter, didnt open this account and didnt refuse them permission to inspect the meter.

Is this warrant legal or was it granted illegally

So you have someone living in your kitchen, or what was your kitchen.
Is it a seperate address or maybe a lodger??? Seperate tenancies maybe.
    Are you the overall owner.????

So its ok for anyone to break into your home if they don't take or damage anything.
No, it's just not necessarily a crime covered by criminal law.
In this case it's trespass which is a civil matter and the OP could use for compensation based on the losses they had incurred (iei loss of power, inconvenience, work needed to contact people to sort it all out). My guess would the the Electricity company would know this and would make a good will payment very quickly.

No the extension was a separate address with separate meters. One meter was taken out when they were knocked together but someone forgot to do the paperwork.

You're onto a winner then Wildcat. See a solicitor send in a bill, including his charges and be prepared to follow through. And as Freds post 25. Lots of expenses like changing locks etc.

When yoiu requested the meter to be removed (I presume you requested) did you also ask you suppplier to 'disconnect' the metering point? If you didn't then they will assume future use and you would keep getting some form of bill because even a site with no meter or consumption incurs industry costs. Suggest you speak to the supplier and see if this is the case bu quoting both address and they can check if there are still 2 MPANs.
