Can anyone offer suggestions on what Digital cameras still use compactflash cards,my Canon powershot 70 has packed in, and i don`t want to buy differant format cards

can't really help, but i would search out cameras that fit my price range then pick out the ones that use compactflash cards. The descriptions of the cameras should always say what type of cards they use.

Hi - i'm afraid compact flash is increasingly becoming the preserve of the more expensive dSLRs - even then the two most recent dSLR cameras released by Nikon have used SD cards - it seems to be the way the mainstream camera market is going. If you wanted to step up in that direction the recently released Canon 400d uses compact flash as does its predecessor the 350d (there may be some deals to be had there). The alternative is to bite the bullet and buy some SD cards; earlier in the year I had some camera equipment stolen and when it came to purchase replacements I couldn't believe how much the cards I'd spent a small fortune on had become - I think a 1meg sd card can be had for about £15 these days.
