Whats up with the mining sector of late? In particular firms such as BHP Billiton and Xstrata seem to be not doing so well. Anyone have any links to information on the cause of these problems?
I've decided to hold right now, as I am hoping they will recover. (Thank God I got in on ITV early or else things would be looking very gloomy right now!!)

Commodity price bubble bursting? - Article
The link contains an interesting graph of commodity prices in the last four years.
Cheerfulcat of these forums has made the point in the past that there are good reasons why commodity growth cycles tend to be long (around 14/15 years).
But the 2002-06 rise on that graph looks more like an assault on the Eiger than a steady climb up Ben Nevis.0
