Scottish Power and EDF are advertising these - has anybody done any investigation?
Will be looking at the weekend. Did really well when I signed up to a Sainsbury/EDF 3 year tarrif a few years ago.

These are usually insurance policies effectively, paying a higher rate now, that the company you have capped/fixed with will increase their prices at least once in the next three years which then puts your tariff as competitive, but only once there is another increase, you'd be better off going with the variable online only tariffs which are far cheaper and have the savings now, rather than pay over the odds now, hoping that the fix/capped deal gets cheap if prices go up again0
