Topcashback tracks rarely. Just me, or everyone else?

I've been using TCB over the last year (don't worry, only for stuff I needed! ;)

I just decided to check if it was worth it. Out of nine transactions, only four tracked at all. I did get paid for them, so free money, but the other five didn't pay out at all.

The site have responded to my complaints by saying they will chase the merchants, but looking through TCB forums I see many claims don't pay.

Is this the same for all cashback sites, am I experiencing a blip, any top tips for dealing with cash back sites?

Cheers. L.

I have never had anything at all track with TCB - I am talking of 10+ purchases. They really are poor.

Fortunately they are OK in dealing with claims, except they won't chase up if less than £1 involved.

I'm sticking with Quidco, which almost always tracks.

I have only had one problem and that was with Ebay tracking and Topcashback sorted it out, so far had over £130 back so I have no complaints.
  • It tracks most of the time for me although I didn't get paid when I bought my 42 in LCD T.V. typical :D I religiously clear cookies, test
    tracking etc.
  • TCB on average works better for me than Quidco. Fewer enquiries to raise with TCB. That said, where an enquiry does need to be raised, Quidco for me seem to be doing a better job actually getting the money.

I've been using TCB for a few years and have only ever had tracking problems with purchases from the AA (home insurance, breakdown). Everything else has tracked fine - over £200 cashback last year :)

Mine usually track except for National Express which never tracks and I always have to open an enquiry.
  • I've been using TopCashBack and and all but two of my purchases through it has tracked - one that didn't was for AA, but as it was for a substantial amount of cashback I'd made sure to test the tracking first and also print-screened throughout. I chased it and the payment came through after. HMV didn't track to begin with once but again, put in a query on it and it got sorted. I've now started using Internet Explorer for when I'm going through TCB rather than using Chrome or Safari though, and haven't had any problems with that.

  • I do clear all cookies, so it's not that causing the problem. Have a quidco account but have never used it so far.

Thanks for replies, though. It's infuriating to have to chase them up, but by the sound of it they are all more or less the same. I might do screenshots in future for big amounts, though.

I have managed to claim just over £220, so it's worth it in the end!

  • I use both and must say Quidco seems to be far more reliable and also seem to actually follow up things that dont
