I wish you luck, but I'm not sure that one of your assumptions is correct. I confess I know nothing about the internals of Dell, but big corporations like that tend to employ full-time legal teams, so you may not be incurring them any extra cost - if it weren't for your case they would just be working on something else.

My own personal experience of action through the Small Claims Court (admittedly not similar to yours) was very disappointing. It was a steep learning curve and it cost me several hundred quid, to no effect (CCJ granted in my favour and ignored by the defendant).

I'd go with what DCM suggests - maximise bad publicity, as it cost you nothing but time.

Possibly (probably) so, but if there aren't too many cases against Dell this year then Dell will save money by shrinking their team next year. How many versions of me have to kick up a fuss before they need to hire yet another full-time lawyer to defend their shoddy service?

Besides, without special circumstances all cases default to the defendants 'home' court, so its not as though they can 'hide' the large amount of cases by spreading them out across the country. With a bit of luck and a following wind every small claims court judge in Bracknell will be sick and tired of hearing Dell defending themselves against Joe Public, and will start 'redressing the balance' :o

I've been somewhat luckier - despite lots of bluster about how they were big and I was small so I obviously didn't understand how the law worked, my car insurance company settled in full on the court steps.
