Welcome Finance
Hi,
I was wondering if anyone could help me.
In April 2009 I bought a car from Welcome Finance!!!! Yes I know I wish i had never!
The finance contract was for three years.
Last year I lost my job and subsequently missed two months payments. Once I started my new job Welcome took my debit card details and were meant to be taking the arrears weekly to bring me upto date. This was never done and in the end I had to increase my payments to clear the arrears.
I am now in financial hardship and have had welcome continuously coming and banging on my door (even banging on my front room window).
They are now threatening to repossess the car but what's more annoying is that the woman who has been dealing with account is now ringing pretending to be someone else from the company!!!
They have also rang my partners phone and other members of my family and informed them of my arrears and personal details.
My two cousins also work for the company and this manager has been disclosing info about my account to them and asking them details about me.
I am just wondering where I stand with this matter.
When I took the finance out with the company I was also on sick leave but the person who sold me the finance said "don't worry about it, we'll just put down that you aren't".
Anyone got any advice on where I can go with this?

Hi,
I wasn't sold PPI with the car finance agreement.0 -
Ok so what I want to know is if there's anything that can be done about them pretending to be other people, not taking payments originally or ringing other people ie my partner or other members of my family and giving them my details. I understand about paying a debt thanks for the advice! But I want to know what I can do about the other issues thanks0

Thanks Brock am going to get in touch with citizens advice tomorrow to see where i stand on this...0

And also with reference to your final remark I am a can't pay hence the posting on here if I was a won't pay I think I wouldn't be asking for advice!!
I think you are referring to somebody's signature file. It appears at the bottom of every post by that person and is not aimed at you.0 -
Thankyou didn't realise that...0

Just had them round the house again banging on the window even though they have been told to put everything in writing and not call out to the house (as advised to me by the consumer direct). Am going to put in another official complaint tomorrow with welcome and the ombudsman...0

Surley there is a data protection issue, if they are telling members of your family info they hold on you? Also if they are harrassing you can you not just call the police?0

I think the police may be the best option now as I spoke to consumer direct who advised Ne to tell them about the contact which I did and they haven't taken any notice. All I want is for them to look at my payment plan while my financial circumstances are in this mess and see if there can be reduced payments but they won't do that they just keep threatening me with repossession0

Good old Welcome, I know they're desperate to get cash back from their customers but I didn't realise they came knocking on people's windows LOL"We want the finest wines available to humanity, we want them here, and we want them now!"0
