I currently have a Halifax One credit card which I have had for years. I have recently paid it off completely and wish to apply for another credit card with 0% on purchases. Will applying for another credit card adversly effect my credit rating. I soon wish to apply for a mortgage so Im worried about effecting my score. Any help would be appreciated.

Applying for 1 card won't have much effect on your credit rating (assuming you haven't already had a lot of previous credit applications in the last few months). How soon are you planning to apply for a mortgage?
Before you do that it might be worth speaking to halifax retentions department to see if they would offer you a 0% deal on purchases on your existing card - I'm not sure if they tend to do purchase offers, they certainly do BT offer to existing customers but worth a try.A smile enriches those who receive without making poorer those who giveor "It costs nowt to be nice"0
