New house - Double glazing warranty transfer

The company who installed the windows (in 2003) in the house I've just bought, has asked me to pay £102 in order to transfer the warranty into my name. I would expect this to be done free of charge or for a small nominal charge considering that it is simply a name change from their point of view. Also there is only two…

If all the mechanisms are in good working order, the DG company would be on very shaky ground trying to claim they were not properly maintained.

But if the guarantee is nearly finished anyway, you might consider just getting quotes for a repair. They might put a full ten-year guarantee on their work and if your steamy windows don't already have high-insulation glass, the new ones might make it worthwhile.
