I have to say the service was excellent. They phoned on the saturday to check I would be in sunday and then phoned on sunday to say they would be about 15 minutes. £4.99 to remove the old one too.
delivery was free? what i saw was that standard delivery is £4.99 and that they also have a premium delivery service which you get told more about after you have clicked on buy.0 -
by the way what i was interested in was a goodmans dvd recorder that recorded on both dvd+ and dvd-. it was £59. it has sold out now though. they do have another for £69.99 but i dont fancy that one.0

Dixons service is good as far as delivering goods, but their aftersales service stinks, they've pretty much got a policy that if you get a problem with your goods they will pass you from pilar to post until you don't know where you are, in the hope that you will just give up.
And if the product develops a fault after 28 days then they simply dont want to know.
Take it from me I've just bought a TV from them a crack started to appear in the casing of the TV 5 weeks after I bought it, now another one is appearing, Dixons response to all this is as the product is over 28 days old there's nothing they are prepared to do about it.

I bought my plasma TV from Dixons Online. £280 cheaper than Curry's store with free delivery using a voucher code from this site
. The delivery invoice has Dixons Online/Curry's/PC World across the top.
Great service and delivery with a phone call on the morning of dispatch from the warehouse and a call from the driver half an hour before delivery.
No need for after sales as the TV is the dogs danglies.0 -

Dixons are honest enough, but... well...
If you don't want to get ripped off... don't shop at Dixons. :rotfl:0 -

They can be strict on thier after sales but from my experience if you have a genuing problem then they will sort it . some people take issue with thier terms but they have soo many con artists try it on with them that they have to have them to stop them getting ripped on a daily basis. i know this as i used to work for them on CS and i dealt with people who treated thier soft ware section as a lending library.
Hope this helps

I would totally agree with you on this. These cowboys basically have robbed me!
After Buying a samsung Lcd 32" for just under £900,within the first six months I had it repaired three times and a further repair required!
It wasnt fit even for Ebay!!!
Repairs Carried Out -
1. A New lcd screen was required as the screen just died.
2. The Main pcb board died three weeks Later.
3. The stand had to be replaced as this was Damaged
4. Dixons did not care about any of the above. I have now sent the item back to Samsung as there is another fault.Which they have agreed to replace for a new t.v.Dixons not interested.
5.I have been shot by Dixons but only wounded as I will be back making a blog about my experience and proving everthing with receipts and the expense that it has cost me.
6.Just waiting at Present for Samsung to send my new tv.So I can also prove that samsung agreed that a new t.v was required.
7.Stay away from Dixons as there Customer care Support are all Foot soldiers!!0
