Hi guys,

My sister recently had a CCJ for an unpaid bill but the debt has been paid off in full (plus the interest). It's taken her 6 months to sort it and she's just received a Certificate of Satisfaction from the court.

Now does this mean that the CCJ has been erased from her 'file'?

Will it affect her future trying to gain credit (eg mobile phone contract etc?) If so how long does it stay with her for?

Any info would be helpful.

No

It will stay on file for 6years from the date of the CCJ. It should show as settled now which will be a small improvement on her credit file - but she is still likely to struggle for credit items for the remainder of those 6years.

OK I'll let her know. I guess any improvement will help. Is there any way in removing it sooner than 6 years or is that just standar procedure?

No thats standard.

The only difference is if she pays within a 30days of the judgement, in which case it should never go on her file.
