Trouble connecting to various sites

I cant seem to get on sites I use all the time, its just started happening, it comes up with an error, ie8 cant connect to this site, I havnt done anything different and have searched google for a solution but nothing seems to make a difference, it took me 5 times to get on here and I'm on here everyday, I use ie8 and Vista, any help would be appreciated:)
