Domestic & general

Hi,last year i took on a service plan on my hoover washing machine, which i paid monthly all good so far,
when this agreement came to an end i received a phone call from dom/gen about renewing the plan,at £5.74 a month, i was told that a double payment will be took on 11 jan 2011 of the sum of £11.56 ,but on this date they took £11.56 plus a payment of £5.74, as i knew the £5.74 was a mistake i cancelled that direct debit, however on the 11 feb 2011 when the next payment was due the amount of £5.74 as per original agreement was not paid,i contacted them today to query(as i obviously cancelled the wrong one) although they have 3 out of the 10 monthly payments, and so the next installment is not due until 11 march 2011, but i was told this agreement has been cancelled because the direct debit was cancelled,dom/gen admitted it was a mistake to have taken the £11.56 and will refund the money , i asked if they could just keep the £11.56 and reinstate the plan but they said no.
thanks
Lisa
