  • Hi just been reading prev posts we received a letter today saying we have been turned down for a CO-OP cashminder account!!
We have an account where our CHB goes into with barclays but we owe them money most of our debt is with Lloyds so we are in the process of getting out of there.
I have an account with HSBC with small overdraft no debts with them but read on other posts that if you go for an IVA they will close account!!

Not sure where to go now???

    :(
  • Hi chef2. I must say it is unusual to get turned down for a cashminder -- did they give any reason ? (they don't usually -- but you never know). Yes, HSBC are very IVA intolerant, I am afraid.

Next port of call I would try is Natwest Step Account or Yorkshire Building Society Transactor
  • Thank you for your reply

Went and read through letter properly this time and made a mistake ( no wonder we are in a mess!!)
When we first called the CO-OP the first account we couldnt have with a cheque book but sent us details about a cashminder account for which we took details into branch on thursday.
The letter must be reffering to the account we were turned own for!

    So releived :)

    So sorry!!

Lesson learned always read letters in full!

I've previously been bankrupt and the co-op were fine with opening an ISA savings account for me, it gets linked to you normal bank account with them for when you do online banking.

Insurance - never had a problem with paying monthly.
    9/70lbs to lose :)
