No claims discount question

My wife and i are about to get a second car and i have a question about no claims discount. My wife has been insured on our current car with me as the second driver for the past 6 years. We have not had any incidents in this time and have shared the car.

We are about to get another car and i need to get insured. We have contacted our existing insurer and they have offered me 60% as we have had no claims. Their quote is not the most competitive and quidco has some good cash back from others.

My question is:- is this offer just from our current insurer or can i expect the same from others.

Obviously i want to keep it as cheap as possible.

Most companies/brokers will offer the same discount on a 2nd car for a spouse insuring in their own name subject to no claims etc.. and as long as no young drivers on the policy.

I would suggest confused.cot enter the details as her having max ncd for prices then if they are cheaper than existing company i would call and just get them to allow as intro ncd!

Some insurers do offer 2nd car discounts but many will require you to have the first car insured with them too (unsurprisingly)

Most insurers do offer an intro discount but typically this is only equiv to 1 years NCD (or sometimes a little more).
