Is there a thread anywhere where people post suggestions of weekly meal plans? Have just started to do my own on Word doc. showing evening meals, weekend lunches, and packed lunches for each week - really just so I don't repeat meals to often. I am also trawling through all the lovely recipes at the front of this thread for new ideas

Hi I know u have found the thread for menu planners and u are using a word doc but for anyone who wants forms to print out to help with meal planning or keeping a record of spending there are free ones at http://organizedhome.com/sites/default/files/printable/notebook_food_menu_planner_monthly.pdf

I use all of the printouts for menu planning monthly and weekly and also 'price book' i can keep a record of my grocery shopping there, I made a file to keep it all in (sad i know lol) I print out the monthly calenders and the weekly planners,,fill it in and stick it on fridge,,i put meals on each day too so my family know what we are having,,and i can plan it around activities.

This is the link to the sites http://organizedhome.com
printouts are on left hand side of page, they are under household notebook too
It helps me I am aware there are other sites but I find this one great, esp at christmas the organised christmas bit is fab ;-) Hope this helps someone else:)

    Hey All,

Been here in spirit if not posting! Had a funny week, got to have an op so they can diagnose/confirm what they think is wrong with me (I feel fine and am having difficulty accepting things - I keep switching from fight to flight!). Seeing as the reason I ended up in hospital has nothing to do with what they now think is wrong then it's either a blessing that I did go in or a pain in the proverbial to be caught in a spiral of s***. Sorry. :o

So we've had a few spends this week and OH got the butcher, greengrocer and bits stuff from town yesterday. I've updated the sig.

We're going to make a start on the 'plot' in the garden today. Still a fair bit of frost around here at night so just going to get the fruit bushes planted properly and work out a planting plan. We got onion sets and first early pots on Thursday so will put the spuds to chit for a week or so and plan where the onions will go when the soil warms a bit more.

I had this great plan to make a spreadsheet of planting, cropping, harvest or cover but things have gotten in the way unfortunately so will do it on the ground so to speak.

You're all doing brilliantly, keep up the great work and good luck for March all.

    Take care,

Budget for March £300 - spend to date £194.77

Not as bad as it seems, I've meal planned for the entire month and have had my shpping delivered and picked up loads of special offers (thanks to this board) I have all the groceries, meat, milk etc I need in the fridge or freezer with 2 weeks fresh fruit and veg left to buy - I originally started weekly planning shopping, then fortnightly so thought I would give it a go for a month.

I have lots of nice new recipes to try out so hope it all goes to plan !!
  • Good morning everyone,
thread growing at an alarming rate so I will probably not be able to keep up with everyone's posts but will dip in and out as schedule allows.
Spent £12 in Aldi the other day and seemed to get a lot for my money. On the other hand spent £16 in M&S last night and seemed to get very little. However had an M&S card in my purse, which had been there for ages, and I thought there might be a couple of pounds on it, there was £22:j so didn't have to hand over any cash.
    Have a frugal weekend everyone.
It takes a long time to eat an elephant and I'm doing it a bite at a time!!!

Spigs, hope they get it sorted soon :)

I'm just back after doing my weekly shop, £7.40-something spent in the local understocked, overpriced c00p :( that included a bunch of flowers and a pot of snowdrops to brighten the place; I have a Sainsbugs delivery booked for Tuesday that will see me through the rest of the month

whilst I was in the shop I was given a book as part of World Book day a great idea to encourage people to read or to read something different from their normal choice :T
... don't throw the string away. You always need string! :D

Popping in to add a wee spend of £3.35. Went to Mr T's armed with my clubcard vouchers and my pricecheck voucher from earlier in the week. So technically a spend of £12.79 but only had to pay £3.35 so that's all I'm adding to my sig.

Went in with a strict list, and came out with exactly what was on the list :o almost!

Got some daffodils to brighten up the place, and some bagged sweets to add to the free packed lunch for travelling on Tuesday. So my off list stuff actually came to £4.18

Cooking sausages, roast veg & cous cous for me and my friend tonight before our night out. I think I will boil the sausages first as recommended on here.

Silly question alert!!! I'll roast the veg for 45mins to an hour, can I just add the sausages to the same dish?

I'll get to be good at this cooking lark one of these days. Just off to portion up the chilli that I made in the SC overnight. Freezer is stocked up with my HM ready meals now. Enough to last the month I hope!!

    Have a good weekend all

Month will run until after shopping on or around 25th March

    Total so far:- £72.47

Thats quite high so far, but I've got alot of dinners in the freezer, so it should even itself out.
