central heating problem

Can someone please help with this.
Last aug we had central heating installed but we noticed the rad in the living room has some creamy coloured stuff running down the pipe that goes into (or out of) the rad.
I assumed that the engineer had used a bit too much joint sealant and that the heat had melted the excess which had run out.
However my wife has now wiped up this sticky gloop about five times since it was installed and it seems unlikely that the engineer could have used THAT MUCH sealant.
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

You have a small leak from a screwed connection. Tighten it up if you know what you are doing or call the installer back.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure - MSE ForumTeam0

wouldn't that just mean that there would be a trickle of water?
Where is this seemingly endless gloop coming from?0 -
just to bump this up a bit0

Had same problem, tightened the joint problem solved.Politicians and diapers have one thing in common. They should both be changed regularly, and for the same reason.0

Andy, I can tighten joint no problem but I would really like to know what the sticky gloop is. Any idea?
I tried ringing installer yesterday they have gone bust, just my luck.0 -
Most likely to be a combination of corrosion inhibitor and possibly leak sealer (which normally looks like white runny goo):

As previously stated, tightening up the connection will probably stop it.0
