MAC code

hi everyone hope you guys might be able to answer my question.
Currently all the bills are in my housemates name but she's moving out and so all the bills will need to be moved into my name (including the phone line and broadband)
I'm not sure if I'll be staying with the same broadband supplier. If I get her to ask for a MAC code from our current provider will it be of any use to the new one considering the account will be under a different name? (Plus the phone will be under a different name)
Is there an easy way of shifting everything across without too much disruption to phone/internet provision?
Thanks

As long as you don't get tied-in to a new 12 month contract when you take-over the account then you should be fine.Never Knowingly Understood.

Yes it will still be of use. The MAC code is a migration code to basically authorise moving that specific ADSL connection on that line to another provider. It is not really tied to a user account, rather the phone line.0
