Help - my cooker door shattered!

I'd just slipped a yummy pizza in the oven last night when there was an almighty bang and the inside glass panel on the oven door shattered and my pizza was spinkled with a shattered glass topping!
The outside glass panel on the oven door is fine, but I noticed the seal on the oven is quite broken. Oven is 5 years old and came from a company that has gone bust so no use looking at warrenties etc
Does anyone know
Can I get a new glass panel for the door?
Is the oven likely to be OK to use?
Is it likely to be cheaper to get a new oven?
Any help much apprecaited!

Google the make and model of the oven and see if you can track down a supplier or someone who stocks spare parts or might offer some advice?
If the oven is faulty and this caused the inner panel to shatter then the last thing you really want to do is keep using it - if the outer panel shatters too then you'll end up with glass all over the floor. If the same thing happened to me I'd buy a new one.0 -
I have a Baumatic oven and smashed the door a while back.
Was moving the oven and dropped it!!
It was a nightmare to get the new glass as their parts are hard to get and it was really expensive, i think about £80-90.
Plus, i threw out the broken door without removing the handle thinking the new door would have one.
It didnt and it cost a further £35 for a replacement one!
So hopefully OP has a different make of oven!0 -
I'd be surprised if you can't get a new panel for it. If you have a local independent "household electricals" repair type shop, they can probably source one for you. Or you should be able to find one online.
I'm not trying to advertise here, but I've used www.espares.co.uk several times in the past, they are a reliable company and seem to carry spares for most things. Have a look on their site, you may well find what you're looking for. And fitting a new panel shouldn't be too difficult, again if you do a bit of a Google you'll probably find instructions. I had a similar experience a year or so ago, ordered a new door online and fitted it in about 20 minutes.
Edit - Oh yes, and I'll second the previous poster's point - don't bin the old door until you've fitted the new one, it seems to be quite common for the handle to be sold separately, so you could well need to transfer it from the old to the new !0
