help.smelly fridge

can someone please help.got a smelly fridge.cleaned it out 4 times, and seems fine, yet as soon as i close the fridge, the smell starts up again.its actually the fridge itself that smells.ive bought 'fridge odor',rubbish.put coffee grounds on a plate, which you can smell when you open the fridge, but theres a lingering after smell.its awful.ive put fresh lemons covered with salt there too,but not helping.
only way to ease it is to open the kitchen door every time i open the fridge.the back of the fridge is fine, too.
if the plastic inside has absorbed some smells, can anyone suggest anything to get rid of them.
many thanks in anticipation:

use the fresh lemons and wipe the inside with em.
leave the door open for a few days.
    Get some gorm.
  • I always keep a little pot of Bicarbonate of Soda in the fridge it absorbs all the nasty food smells.

  • It may be that there is 'gunk' inside the draining tube that could smell it up. Look at the back of the fridge, near the bottom. Rub a cotton bud inside the small drain hole and see if it brings anything out.

That would be my guess as well, a blocked drain. Is the fridge built-in or free standing?

I agree, my Daughter almost purchased a new fridge because of this very same problem, however she found that the drain tube was blocked at the back of the fridge, she cleared it and it is fine now.
