I know the area well. It's not an area I would want to be in. It's on the A38 - four lane arterial road.
The two houses will be probably be bought for letting to students from Birmingham University or for a large family who will think the shared access is wonderful.

Looking at B5 7UA on rightmove I get four next door properties:

    171 Bristol Road,Edgbaston,Birmingham

    173 Bristol Road,Edgbaston,Birmingham
    http://www.rightmove.co.uk/property-for-sale/property-32150696.html

And then your two at 175 and 177.

I can't quite figure out how the back garden works as 175/177 looks to have mature hedging but doesn't look narrower than 171 and 173. Yet the details say 175/177 have their own private back garden. Were 175/177 already split, hence having mature hedges, or was the garden split after the photo was taken, or looking at the floor plans it looks like 171/173 have a similar split? How come there are two house numbers available 175 and 177 for what looks to have been one house? Well I'm now well confused as it looks like both "pairs" were already split!

171 and 173 are on houseprices but can't see 175/177.

EDIT: Yes 171/173 have a similar split and the communal entrance is mentioned in their brochures. Looking at the pictures and house prices they may have done 169 as well. The picture for 173 shows what the properties look like from the back.

If the details say 'newly renovated' it kind of suggests that they actually CHOSE that wallpaper. And yet, how could that possibly have happened?

And the yellow room, with the big fireplace, that must have taken some very careful trimming and pattern matching to fit that bit inside the fireplace. Amazing to go to all that effort and not bother to step back, look at what you've done and go, "oh, that just looks weird now."
  • The kitchen wall tiles look like they were banged up by a bloke with no hands.

Quote of the week :D seriously had me laughing at that comment :D

and what's with that piddly little rad in the kitchen? I reckon you wouldn't be able to fully open the fridge/freezer door with the silly thing in the way.

Well is Edgbaaaarston so people think they can ask what they like.
Personally the thought that came to mind was whoever buys this has more money than sense (by a very wide margin)
Find out who you are and do that on purpose (thanks to Owain Wyn Jones quoting Dolly Parton)

Good Work. £175k each. Pick a number and just double it!

I agree about student housing but even then you'd have put the bathroom in the small bedroom and had the massive bathroom as another big double. And put a shower room in that loo space downstairs. I was looking at a house literally yesterday which would have provided 4 double bedrooms at around £150k, or even 6 doubles if you did the loft conversion and that would cost no more than £200k.

You all made me laugh this morning, especially you Pastures New with the bum marks and the man with no arms. :rotfl:I was wiping my screen yesterday - there are some dodgy looking smudges on the walls that I thought were grimy fingerprints on the laptop.

Imagine coming back home after a few pints and seeing that wallpaper. It's making my head spin when I'm stone cold sober!
  • There appears to be a dirty "bum height" mark on the hideously pastel green wall.
Oh I thought that was a smudge on my screen haha.

I don't see a problem with the layout although it's a real shame that people divide these nice old houses up. The rooms are all nice and big (except bedroom 1 on house 2, why on earth did they make the bathroom so big?).

    Stupidly expensive though.
  • I thought what's the fuss really and then saw the floorplans!!!! Truly hideous houses
