Any thoughts on biofuel fires?

Hi there,
I have a dining room with a removed fireplace, leaving a recess and closed up chimney. I am thinking what to do with the gap and came across biofuel 'fires'. These apparently give off some heat and look very much like a normal fire in a firebasket, but don't require any sort of flue.
I don't need the fire for heat, but want something that will enhance the room and be easy to install. Has anyone got one of these? Do they really look the part/throw out heat etc?

i have a cube burner, it looks really smart, but takes just under 500ml of bio fuel which lasts around 40/50 mins, there is also an ok amount of heat generated.0
