Rac car insurance cancellation

Hi we got the AUTO renewal in Feb was 4 X greater than last year So we phoned and canceled (so what do they do then) they tried to take the £2500.00 from my account (switch card).
But I change banks 6 mths ago and closed all the accounts and they couldn't get the payment even though I had tried to cancel
I phoned & spoke to expert at arguing the toss they said they had phone recordings that only show a discussion not a cancellation they are threatening over the phone with some sort of action if we don't pay £20.00.

Anyone know where we stand with this one

First thing I'd do is ask to hear the recordings - you believe you said X, they claim you said Y, so the recordings will tell the truth.

I glad you posted this.

My insurance (also RAC) is due on the 6th march, and as the premium was far higher than other insurers, I also phoned up to cancel.
After reading this, I've just e-mailed them asking for a confirmation letter or e-mail stating that they will not renew the policy.

If you are 100% certain that you told them not to renew your policy, once you do as redped says, I'm sure that the RAC will soon back down.
