Being charged for 1471. Since when?

I had a look at my online bill today and see that I have been charged 17p +VAT for dialling 1471:eek:. When did they start charging for this?
I use BT for my line rental only but I am on the Unlimited weekend plan, so I have a call plan and I really don't remember being informed that this would cost me money to use from x date.
Could someone enlighten me please?
Thanks.
I do remember that 1571 cost money to use so cancelled it a few years ago. I've been using 1471 for free until January when I was charged, so it is a recent thing.

Dialling BT 1471 without using Call Return is free. The Call Return feature of BT 1471 costs a fixed fee of 17p. The fee will apply when you press 3 to return your last caller's call. This charge applies whether or not the call is connected.0

But I've never done that (happy to jot the number down and dial back
)! Hmm I should ask around the household and see who it might be then. Thanks for your answer.

There are customers of Sky (including myself) complaining that they have been charged for using 1471 despite not pressing 3. Happened twice to me in February. So far Sky are telling complainants that they must have pressed 3.Be ALERT - The world needs more LERTS0

An easy way to boost profits! There are customers of Sky (including myself) complaining that they have been charged for using 1471 despite not pressing 3. Happened twice to me in February. So far Sky are telling complainants that they must have pressed 3.Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.0
