Car remote won't work

Not sure this counts as Techie..
The remote control for my car alarm ran out of battery a while ago (a couple of weeks). I just got to changing the battery for it today, but it's not working for some reason.
I can see that the battery is ok since there is a red LED that turns on when I click it, but no response from the car.:(
Any ideas?

Hi,
You might have more luck in the Motoring forum on here or a forum for your make of car elsewhere (unless the handbook tells you what to do?). I know on my Rover, for example, you have to press one button a certain number of times so it re-learns the code after you've changed the battery.
Worst case is the remote itself is dud I suppose, but the active led should hopefully make this a 'remote' possibilty (sorry!)...0 -
