I'm a fan of MBNA but still think that such a sweeping change has caused a lot of issues.

    Good Luck.

This exactly sums up my attitude about MBNA.

A lot of people contacting MBNA on a first offence of missing payments, if they are humble and agree to set up a minimum DD payment, usally get the £12 refunded and the 0% re-instated.

Can anyone actually confirm if they have had their 0% rate reinstated. The first line contact I spoke with today said that they could only offer a reduction from 18% to 9.9% on my account. They did not have the option of 0% :-(

Several posters have reported getting it reinstated. However, someone working for them who posts on here has said they've recently (late last year?) changed policy and they'll only reinstate it for breaches made within the first 3 months (from memory).

Did you call the number/team I provided in post #12?

Yes I did call that number yesterday and I only got through to the normal customer service team - who couldn't do anything. I was told to wait until a manager calls me back - which should be with 48 working hours since my call at 9am on Saturday.

If you fail and don't want to argue it any further, I would keep a record of the details just in case further down the line someone successfully challenges these "gotcha" situations. There is an argument that taking away these rates when you're late with a payment is a disguised penalty charge. Penalties should not be greater than a reasonable estimate of the costs of the breach.

BTW I don't believe that myself, but you never know!

    Hi,

I should now have my 0% Interest promotion reinstaled. It took three phone calls, and the first two times I was fobbed off. So I think it depends on whom you actually get to speak to (or more likely which manager the advisor speaks to). I also think I've been refunded th1 £12 aadmin fee for the short payment.

I suspect that there will be a few days interest on £4k so I might have to make another call or write to see if I can claim that back. I'll post back when my next statement arrives.

    So thanks for your advice.
