Trying to do a fresh install of Windows XP home on an old PC. Things were going great until it got to entering the product key. The stupid thing keeps coming up as invalid  This is a legitimate copy of XP so i'm unsure as to what I am doing wrong. Only thing I have noticed different from when i've did this before is the key code label says it was Windows XP Media Centre Edition, will this be what is causing the problem as the disc I have used is just Windows XP Home Edition.

Yes, you need the corresponding disc for the version you are attempting to install.0

thanks for the quick reply. After I had typed and sent it my first thought was omg that's a stupid question to ask :rotfl: I managed to locate an older computer that originally had just Windows XP home on it and it's no longer used so have used the code from that.Dream as if you'll live forever - live as if you'll die today0
