Faster payment disappeared

Every week I transfer some money from the joint account to the bill account and it always goes via fp no problem. I have been paid some money today and transferred it into another account to pay for a big purchase tomorrow. I did this at 7.30 this morning. When I logged into my account it hasn't appeared yet. I phoned both banks and was just told it will get there eventually. Will it actually appear today or could it still take a few days?

Is the 'other account' one that accepts FP?Will it actually appear today or could it still take a few days?
....... only your Bank(s) are going to be able to shed light on that? Did the payment definitely go as FP .... has it left the source account and left a notation such as FPO behind .... did you get a confirmatory Email (a la Halifax) ?? All such things would be good clues? If you want to test the depth of the water .........don't use both feet !0 -
Faster payments are not guaranteed even though it has worked for you before. And the recipient bank as mentioned needs to be on the faster payments system too.0

Yeah I transfer the money via the same two accounts every week. It's just typical I needed the money in there tomorrow. I know I should have gone into the bank amd done it myself! It definately went by faster payment, it said so on my Internet banking. Oh well its my own fault, I live and learn and have luckily managed to find the money elsewhere for tomorrow0

gone via FP but may in rare cases take 3 working days (in the case for Santander for example)0 -

Is this a clue that the transfer was of a larger amount than usual. Each bank has its own limits on individual transfers and total daily transfers via FP.
