Dog insurance .. Not got a clue!!

Am wanting to insure my wifes 14 month old japanese akita, incase of sickness or injury etc.

Anyone got any advice as not had it before and it seems more complicated than car insurance.

Thanks in advance.

  • In my opinion a wise choice, get a few quotes and dont take the cheapest just because it is cheaper than the rest as the pay out limits may be higher or the terms and conditions may be better.

Remember it is your dogs health so you want the best policy that fits the dogs needs.

I am with petplan and have been excellent thus far my border collie, she covered upto £12,000 per year for vet bills and we had a claim for £6,500 in 2009/10 for a broken leg. they paid all the bills direct to the vet so had no worries finding the money.

So a few quotes then do your homework to assertain what is best for your dog.
