Yes. A good one, but not an expert in this area.
You have got the wrong end of the stick... I didn't make it perfectly clear so my fault. The garage (mechanic) damaged my car and I'm talking about the garage as the 3rd party who caused the damage. They won't be repairing it.

As already posted this barrister friend is misleading you. Especially when telling you he is an "expert" in this area!!
If you sue the third party (ie the garage) which you are entitled to, although the papers will name the garage as the defendant, the insurer will defend the case! You will lose, and be left with the court fees to pay as well as the defendant's expenses!0
