sorry don't know any cheap sites for gluten free food. i would point out maybe you know or don't but you can get gluten free food on prescription. buy a pre-payment certificate and order as much as you need. that's what we do. we also learnt to make gluten free indian chapatis and samosas. its great because with gluten free diet you just miss all of the exotic foods.

afraid gluten/wheat free food just isn't cheap!- sometimes
approved foods has stuff in but not always.

I just use Juvela white mix and make everything myself or
buy from Sainsburys who seem to be pretty good.

Juvela white mix is amazing! Makes great fresh bread and also lovely pastry. I turn it into a loaf or a lemon tart for my coeliac hubby.

as above, my sons coeliac, and we get all his rolls, pasta and spagetti from prescription. Saisburys free from is great and they often have at least 1 item in their cake/bread section on reduced price. With regards to cakes, I tend to make them myself and chocolate bars I buy orange wafers from tesco for 85p for 5 bars. I also buy the G/F breadcrumbs from tesco and make him G/F chicken nuggets!
Once I started reading the ingredients of things and joined the coeliacUK website and got the free gluten free guide book, I found that I didnt need specialist sites to order food as he could eat alot of what we eat, like the bisto best gravy, taco shells etc

Oooh, do taco shells not have flour in them & can you tell me where you get them from please?

My son is Coeliacs but I (or should I say he) don't find the Juvela mix that nice.

Approved foods now has a search button for gluten free (far right under dietary and, from memory, lifestyle):

You need to check regularly, but they do get a selection in fairly often.

Ask around your friends if any of them shop on swinco or approved foods. My friend's little girl has coeliac diease and I order the gf stuff for her when I place an order. It means she gets the bargains but doesn't have to pay for del.
I know she does get lots of things on prescription.

As far as I know it's only available on prescription if you have coeliac disease. If you think you might, this can be confirmed with a simple blood test.

Hubby then buys a prescription pre-payment card (about £110 per year) and gets a prescription once a month for 8 loaves of bread, boxes of mix and pasta, pizza bases, biscuits... Always gets me that the NHS will buy his biscuits. They're not healthy!
