Replacing my Yaris
Comments
-
I've got the newer shape Yaris (57) plate and its 1litre and I don't find it underpowered at all, its a right nippy little thing and I love it :T
T'other half drove us 300 miles to London and back again the other week and I had to tell him to keep the speed down. He was pleasantly surprised as we usually drive his gas guzzling Fiat 2 litre 20 valve injection beast on the motorway journeys, but his car just too expensive for long distance now.
Don't discount a newer Yaris is what I'm waffling about0 -
Kilty -its a chain - much better!!!
Somethingcorporate - 100K isn't my idea of low mileage.I'd be back up to my current figure in about 3 years. This one came to me as a 3 year old with 35K on the clock. Trouble is, Yaris's hold their value really well and I saw one advertised with 80K on the clock for nearly £5000. And 5 door models are pretty unusual, plus more expensive.

I hate to say it because I hate diesel - but have you considered a larger diesel? Focus or even Mondeo sized. Will return better economy on the motorway, be a nicer place to be and they depreciate heavily in the first 3 years0

Hi again everyone
Thought I'd come back and finish the story! I did get the exhaust done (the whole lot would have hit the deck as it turned out, and I just had to have the backbox replaced) but after a great deal of thought, I decided to quit while I was ahead and yesterday got a fab deal on a very low mileage Mitsubishi Colt from a little family-run garage and even better, they are keeping my dear old Yaris as their courtesy car so I think that is a win-win situation. I'm sure it will serve them well for years to come and benefit from a slightly quieter life, plus any work it needs will effectively cost the garage very little as they are supplying their own labour.
Thanks for all your suggestions at the time.0
