Keep receiving V5C's for different people who have never lived here
Hi all,
Just wondering if someone can give an opinion on this, and whether action taken is correct.
We've lived in this property for 20 years now, but over the last few months, we keep receiving DVLA documents for people who have never lived here and are unknown to us.
The first two we returned to the DVLA with addressee unknown, but admittedly my curiousity did get the better of me on the 3rd.
The house is on the market right now, and I'm just wondering if anyone has came across anything like this? It's as if the house is being used as a fake address for these registrations. If this is the case, can I just confirm that they'd obviously be no ramifications for us if offenses happened due to the use of that car?

it would depend if it is your name on the V5s,also any unpaid fines that went to court could end up with a visit from the bailifs etc
any more that come through take a photocopy then send the original back to DVLA stating that the person is not known at the addressI

There was a road tax reminder letter delivered here one day for "Flat 0/1-2" - I stay in flat 0/2 and someone else in 0/1. The postie left it on the stairs between the flats in the close :rotfl:
Was gone by the time I returned home *rolleyes*0 -
Taken a copy of this most recent one, posted it back to DVLA with a letter stating what is happening.
It can't be a flat issue, as it's a house I live in. I'd have put it down to a typo, but as I say its happened a few times now.0 -
Definitely sounds like someone's using it for fraudulent purposes - have the names been similar?0

Not really, although it's very common names in use. I did see the previous address of who the car was purchased from, and it's just up the road. Part of me was tempted to nip around there.0
