Thanks for all your replies so far!

Saw the Clin Psych today but forgot to mention about referral to specialist! Sounds bad that I forgot but had both DS and DD with me (creating havoc lol) and CP was talking to me in detail about her diagnosis of Classic Autism, prescribing Ritalin (alternative), his Melatonin prescription, his schooling and loads of other stuff!

Regarding the clarifications of Autism Diagnosis she basically said that she diagnosed him as Classic Autism as although he is High Functioning he shares more characteristics with CA than anywhere else on the spectrum and that he is likely to be re-diagnosed in the next few years anyway! - I think I'm happy with that and can see what she means.

As for referral to other hospital - I think I need to do a bit more research just to be sure that I request the right place to be referred to, so I am going to ask the hospital Consultant when we next see him in June. If anyone has any further suggestions as to other consultants or childrens hospitals in the South I'd be really interested to hear!

    Hi Dainty1976
Glad to hear your some of the way of getting a full understanding for your little one needs!
With regards to additional specialists around Sarf London ;), you need to narrow done what you want looked at first. Most specialists will have expert knowledge on some of the things, but not everything.
I think you should have a word maybe with your gp, who can put you in touch with someone who deals with overlapping complex needs.
    Good luck x
No one said it was gonna be easy!
