Zanussi Tumble Dryer

HI, I wonder if anyone can help me please.
I have just purchased from a catalogue a new Zanussi washing machine and Tumble dryer 13th August. The Tumble Dryer doesn't heat up. I have had a visit from an engineer who says the machine must go back to the supplier to be replaced. The catalogue have told me that the delivery period could be up to 6 weeks as I do not fall in a particular post code area. Zanussi cant help either. Am I within my rights to ask the catalogue for a discount? Both items were ordered as a package, so I couldnt have one without the other, but they did take away an old washing machine and tumble dryer, old but working!

Hi, The choice is yours really. If the item you purchased is faulty, and clearly it is, then you can demand a full refund from the company from which you purchased the item. Personally this is what I would do, but I would not buy a combi unit. If the motor breaks down, then you can't wash or dry. Best to have seperate washer and drier.

    Hi,

Thanks for that! At last Zanussi have agreed to replace the item, next Tuesday. I will say their customer service is diabolical.

    Thanks again for your help.

I heartily agree - don't buy a combined unit. Personally I would have asked for your money back as there are a lot of better offers around in the shops and buying with a credit card at 0% can get you interest free for 6 months or so.
