hi

iv just moved into a new house (renting) and am in charge of the bills, we are currently with powergen but how can i find out how much energy was used last year at the house? im thinking of changing to edf as have a 5000 nectar point voucer and people from edf came round and said they could provide us with cheaper power. but want to use uswitch to conform that they will be cheaper.

I would phone up your current supplier and ask them what the estimated annual consumption figure is for your meter(s). Just say you are wondering how much electricity or gas you are likely to use in a year. If they don't know how to work this out, then ask them if they can give you some past meter readings so you can work it out (remember there is a conversion from gas units to KWH). Due to data protection, they may not give you past meter readings, but they should be able to give you an idea of how much you are likely to use.
Indecision is the key to flexibility :)
