Childcare element of WTC for summer camps?

Hi, i'm due to finish my university degree in May and so plan to up my hours at work to 25 a week (9.20- 2.30 mon- fri). I was wondering about childcare in the summer and whether I can claim the childcare element of wtc for a 4 week summer camp?

I've never claimed wtc before so have no idea how it all works,
any advice would be greatfully appreciated.

    Hi Claire,

You usually have to declare it as a weekly amount. So you would need to work out how many weeks over the year you will need it and the cost each week. Then add the total up and devide it over 52 weeks. You then get that money every week and will have to save it. I believe they dont just give it you as and when you need it.

Try using the entitled to website you can try different figures and see how it works out

Thank you for replies, have spoken to my local family information service who have clarified it a little more but think i'll just have to bite the bullet and do it and hope for the best!
