British Gas and Nectar
I'm sure everyone has seen the adverts recently - if you're a British Gas customer you can now earn Nectar points when you pay your bill... in theory!
Has anyone managed to successfully link their accounts? I keep getting "our system is having a bit of trouble" messages every time I check my account. I phoned British Gas last week and the rep I spoke to mentioned there were a few problems with registration. Seems a pity they didn't sort this out before making a big song and dance about it.

I'm just with Scottish Gas for a maintenance contract and I registered and got 200 points.0

I'm a BG prepayment customer and was able to register my card with them over the phone last week, even though the newsletter said that nectar points were not available for prepayment customers. :j0

You continue to get them every quarter too, and also additional points if you book your call outs / boiler service appointments via the website!
@sandra21 Not sure where you read that, prepayment customers are eligible for nectar points too, but like you say they do have to give them a call as opposed to doing it online.0 -

This has occurred on a fair number of accounts, it's down either the gas, electric or homecare being in a different name to one of the others, give BG a quick call and they'll pass you across to a Nectar specialist team setup specifically for this reason who'll get you active.0

Sounds like a honey trap.:D0 -
I got a letter from British Gas at the weekend welcoming me to "Nectar with British Gas" (but no confirmation of my BG or Nectar account numbers ) - hopefully it's okay but BG online still says it's "having a bit of trouble"... I hope the cat doesn't do a whoopsie on their carpet.0
