Once rates start to edge up a little I think that some of the instant access accounts; paying derisory interest may increase a little, but I don't feel that serious savers who go for fixed rates will get much joy until the BOE rate rises considerably higher than a quarter or half point rate hike.0

I think you are right in real terms and this is how savers will pay for the Banks mistakes and QE in the long run - as well as everybody losing public services in exchange for paying more tax.0 -
