Well things do seem to be on the up. Just had a call from another school(he only did 2 application forms!) OFFERING HIM AN INTERVIEW!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Again only(only what am I saying!) a two term mat cover BUT YEEEAAAAAAAHHHH!!!!!!!

He's obviously 'got it' anniestar as he's on demand! The thing to remember is that it may 'only' be maternity cover but you never know where it may lead. This could be the foot in the door he needs - I certainly hope so! ;)

I have had a rubbish day today - I went into M&S after work & bought nice food and chocolate, then went to The Works (better than WHSmiths, at least) and bought a book to read on the train home. Total spend £7.70 :o

Oh well, it's another week starting tomorrow.

Oh good news - and slim excuse for celebrating with M&S food - the A&L have offered me a fixed rate mortgage, taken my personal loan with HSBC onto the mortgage, and have cheaper insurance. Altogether this will save me about £125 per month :D I'd been back and forth to them since Monday, so relieved to have been offered it.

Hey Blue, £7.70 is not the worst you could have done, right? ;) I know I could have done some real damage in M&S and the Works for that matter :rotfl:

At least you got some financial matters sorted so that's some peace of mind you didn't have before. I have to ask though - is the personal loan addition to the mortgage not going to cost more in the long run? Just be careful hun, you don't want to end up paying more in the long term

Hi, haven't posted in ages, but thought I would pop in and say hello, and seek some money saving inspiration - much needed at this time of year!

I started the day with petrol, and some Christmas shopping, then after a couple of hours work, another lot of Christmas shopping. All budgeted for, and I did stick to my budget (except for the magazine treat, for being so good about the shopping budget, oh well...).Then a quick bit of internet shopping this evening, saving me quite a bit on shop prices.

No, I haven't added it all up! Roughly £45.

I need to keep some money in hand, as I am hoping to start a course after Christmas, and will need a travel fund, not to mention at least one smart outfit!

    All the best,

    Serena

Hello Serena and welcome back! Well done for sticking to the budget and for planing for your course. hope you pop in more often :)

    Hello lovely DFWs :)

Thnak you very much for your kind words. We all make this thread/board what it is and we all deserve a huge :T for sticking with it!

Apologies for taking over the thread this morning (!!!). I am not sure what happened but got home from work at 6pm, laid on the bed 'for 5 mins' and then it was 3:30

Well, I guess I must have needed it  since I got up, I did the washing up, put bread on in the bread maker, put the washing machine on, wrapped 2 birthday presents, put away some dry clothes and eaten lots of bisuits (butter biscuits from the £1 shop in a tin - yummy and handy ;))

Hmmmm now what do I do? :rotfl:
